In 2018 and 2019, I was part of various teams that organized accessible art events on MSU’s campus. I created, together with my colleague Dr. Jessica Kane, a “playbook”: a manual of organizational strategies employed in the creation of these accessible art events. In the playbook, you’ll encounter an intimate glimpse into various parts of the planning process, not only macro-level descriptions of the themes and topics of the events, but also micro-level lists of planning details (e.g., connecting with artists, etc.). I am particularly proud of two really helpful “case studies”: checklist-style timelines of planning details outlined month-by-month for both a smaller event which calls for the shorter 3-month planning scheme and a more involved event requiring the longer 6-month planning scheme and a more dynamic strategy. Happy planning!
