I had a fabulous time 9/18 exploring neurodivergent students in language education with the Council on Language Instruction at Northwestern University!
At the beginning of our workshop per an informal poll, most folks were feeling uncertain about how to address the needs of neurodivergent students in their language classrooms (4-point Likert scale, biggest bucket by far was 18/31 or 58% “somewhat uncertain”). By the end, though not everyone could stay the whole time because of department meetings, our biggest bucket was “somewhat confident” (16/20 or 80%)!
If faculty can walk away from time with Caitlin at least feeling like they have what it takes to make even incremental, meaningful changes, plus understanding that solutions don’t have to be all or nothing and we’re aiming for progress over perfection – I’m a happy guest speaker! Thanks for having me, NU!
